Transactional Solution initiates national deployment of Spire Payments’ mPOS solution in Belarus

Spire Payments today announce the national deployment of their latest mPOS solution across Belarus with Transactional Solution. Branded GandlyarOK (GOK for short), phase 1 of the roll-out will see several hundred merchants equipped and benefitting from this state-of-the-art payment technology. Future phases predict potential national deployments at several thousand.

This far reaching and ambitious project has been triggered in part by new security and technical mandates introduced by international card schemes, the Belarus government, and local banks for contactless/NFC product acceptance. This has resulted in the need to upgrade legacy mPOS estates which fall short of these demanding requirements.

The GOK solution utilises Spire’s award winning chip & PIN & CTLS/NFC mPOS device (the SPm2), secure software architecture, API, key injection environment and a range of accessories for merchants on the move (taxis) or in fixed locations (SMEs). Linked to a smart mobile device (via Bluetooth), GOK allows payments to be taken quickly and securely while also meeting the following demanding requirements:

  • Acceptance of international cards including VISA and MasterCard
  • Support of Belcard (local card)
  • Acceptance of contactless and NFC payment methods
  • Fully compliant with the local CTLS/NFC acceptance mandate (January 2017)
  • Certified by BPC (national processing centre)

Transactional Solution is based in Minsk, Belarus, and provides a wide range of electronic financial services across Belarus since 2014. Focused on delivering the latest technologies, this fast growing business is led by a forward thinking team of ultra-paneers.

Siarhei Khaladkou- Director for Transactional Solution says about the project, “Having been very active in the Belarus market for over 3 years now, the GOK project is the perfect opportunity for the business to gain greater market share. The collaboration with Spire has made this possible due to the speed at which the solution could be integrated with our systems while also meeting all the local requirements.”

Tai-Kei Cheung, President Spire Payments: “This project is another demonstration of how mPOS is starting to gain traction across the globe and thanks to our continued investment in this technology Spire Payments finds itself in the ideal position to assist customers in quickly getting solutions to market.
